If you haven't heard by now, there are some new springish Arcana goods, returning old faves, and etc.

(Actually, at this point, we have a new NEW collection to unveil, but let me post these first for the sake of thoroughness.)


May 2012: The Darling Buds


PERFUME OILS

Bonfires at Dusk:  Woodsmoke, sweet beeswax, Oregon lavender, sandalwood, charred juniper, and the scent of swiftly appearing stars.

Byzantium:  A salute to the ancient metropolis at the crossroads of East and West. Sail to Byzantium with this opulent blend of fortifying Mediterranean mint, dark Turkish tea, sparkling Roman oranges, and a hint of sweet, resinous labdanum.          

The Darling Buds:  The fresh essence of the darling buds of May. Baby cucumber, strawberry, petitgrain, grapefruit, pomegranate, basil, and a splash of pink rosewater.

Juno:  A connubial bouquet of ivory heartleaf, gardenia, bridal veil, tiare, and creamy tuberose is sparked with heady herbs and smoothed with white cognac.

Just wondering if there is a comprehensive list available of the layering notes? I love so many of them and have Googled for some lists but many don't list them all.

One exciting thing here is that these goods are already being shipped from the retailers to you! (Early?? WTF?) But not if you haven't ordered them, because that would just be odd.

Also, you may have noticed there's been no soap in your Arcana Soaps. I have had repetitive strain injuries in my hands, so I've been taking time off to heal. We should have some news about soap production soon, but you also can get very fine soaps from this place:

March 2012: Eostre Rising

PERFUME OILS

Eostre:  New life, the vernal equinox, and the luminous moon. Pearlescent skin musk and sweet coconut meat tinged with hyssop, sandalwood, and a drop of blue Egyptian chamomile.

Fortuna Brevis:  For the Roman goddess of capricious luck, both good and bad. Bountiful oats, wheat, apricot, pink pepper, petitgrain, and Omani frankincense.

Grasshopper:  A sparkling pan-Asian blend of Indonesian ginger, Japanese yuzu fruit and Thai lemongrass, spiked with a hint of Indian black pepper.

Madame Lapin:  The essence of a soft brown bunny: fragrant notes of sweet honey, dry Atlas cedarwood, warm toast, buttermilk, and a subtle blend of spices.

Monsieur Lapin 2012:  Mme Lapin’s new companion. A well-mannered mix of tobacco leaf, rich golden musk, cinnamon bark, patchouli, blackseed, and a quietly feral dusting of sugar.

Molly Malone:
Now her ghost wheels her barrow

Cotton candy, sea spray, green sugarcane, salt, pink musk, sweet bergamot, lily of the valley, black pepper, vanilla, patchouli, and the merest hint of aged vetiver.

Brighid’s Well:  Celtic triple goddess Brighid is symbolized by both sun and moon, fire and water, renewal and destruction. A fierce fighter, she’s often armed with flaming arrows, and is the patron of metalworkers, poets, midwives, and… hedgehogs. In Ireland, her sacred wells (now embellished with crosses) draw those who seek blessings, healing, a doorway to the Otherworld, or simply the presence of the goddess. Soft vanilla, sweet lamb’s milk, black oak wood, Atlas cedarwood, cubeb, bone musk, bright Irish violets, bedstraw, and a trace of iron-distilled patchouli.

Lady Lamb: Caroline Lamb, Lord Byron's eccentric mistress, was brilliant, beautiful, and infamously obsessed with him. Rich yellow gateau, strawberries, dark clove, vanilla, champagne, and a mad little dash of mint.

Leaves Falling Like Rain: In honor of our beloved Pacific Northwest and the best time of the year. A comforting base of brown sugar, caramel, gingersnaps, and cappuccino is sparked off with hints of vintage patchouli, hyssop, white pepper, and a drop of blackseed.

Poison Candy: Ripe pink strawberries are tainted with musky ambrette seed, pure cassia, rich cream, cinnamon sugar, honey, copaiba, and wild oat extract.

Queen Crossbones: The adventurous scents of a pirate queen's far-flung travels: creamy Egyptian musk, wild honey, sweet coconut, and exotic resins.

Soft Hearted: All tenderness and compassion. This gentle union of pink grapefruit, sweet lavender, green lotus, and softest musk is touched off with an arterial spark of black pepper.
